March 08 Quarterly Update
About This Update...
This quarterly update reflects changes that have been made to the data universes, related documentation, and alternate data products.
Your comments will help us provide beneficial information to the DoD Cost Community and improve VAMOSC products. Click on the following link to provide your feedback.
Aviation Universes
The following data source updates was made to the NAMSR/NAMSR+ Universes:
- Flying hours for several Type Model Series were updated to correspond to values in the ATMSR.
- Combinations of NIIN and CAGE / Part Number were not consistently matched, leading to null values being reported for many NIINs. This issue has been resolved and and corrected data is now displayed in NAMSR Plus.
Ship Universes
The following data source updates were made to the Detailed Ships, Ships, MSC and Shipboard Systems Universes:
- FY07 Ships 3M data (OARS) quarterly update
- FY04 Ships 3M data (OARS) reprocessing
- FY07 FMPMIS (CPM) quarterly update
- FY07 FMP Other quarterly update
- FY05-06 MPS Program, additional costs were added to Element 6.6, Other Sustaining Support (MSC only)
- FY06 ETS Costs reprocessed to remove duplicate costs from the source data (Ships only)
- FY06-07 SYS-UIC dictionaries were updated for several ship systems (SSR only)

These VAMOSC documents have been updated to reflect this quarterly release and provide details to changes in the data:
Ships
VAMOSC VIEWs
VAMOSC VIEWs for surface combatants, amphibious ships, fighter/attack and rotary wing aircraft have been updated with FY07 data and are available in the Corporate Documents section. Additional VIEWs will be updated in the coming months!
Aviation Almanacs
Aviation Almanacs for the following Type Models were updated with FY07 data; A-6, AV-8, C-130, E-2, F/A-18, H-1, H-46, H-53, H-60, and P-3.
Mark Your Calendars!
The 8th Annual Naval VAMOSC/OSCAM User Conferences have been scheduled! The Aviation Conference will again be held at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center in California, MD on Thursday, May 1st.
The Ships User Conference will be held at the Melville Taylor Auditorium in the Maritime Technology Information Center (MTIC), building 40 at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock in Bethesda, MD on Wednesday, May 7 th.
